Mechanical Engineer - Folkestone

The Role:
In the Mechanical Engineer role you will be primarily responsible for the manufacture of bespoke components and assemblies, this will initially involve using manual lathes, a vertical mill, band saw etc and with training (unless already competent) you would be expected to move into sheet and plate metal work including TIG, MIG and mma welding, producing and working to drawings and, whilst working alongside other trades, site installation of your manufactured items.
Specific tasks include:
- The manufacture of bespoke components and assemblies
- Liaising with customers to establish their specific needs
- Working within our team in order to fulfill the above
The standard working hours for this job are 08.00 to 16.30.
The Candidate:
To be the right person for Mechanical Engineer role you will need direct experience of mechanical engineering.
We also need you to have prior experience of using manual lathe and vertical mill as well as producing and working to drawings.
It's important that you also have the following:
- Good organizational / planning skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn
- A full driving license

The Package:
The basic salary for the Mechanical Engineer role is between £39,000 - £46,000 per annum.
You'll also get the benefit of pension with the role.

You could be right for this Mechanical Engineer position if you've previously worked either as an Engineer or as a Machinist.
We manufacture bespoke machined and fabricated parts and assemblies predominantly using steel, stainlesssteel and aluminium, this will involve using manual machines whilst producing and working to drawings.You must have a strong desire to see projects through to completion as this will also involve site installation whilst working with outside trades and the end customer. You will be accountable for setting time scales and working within them. Once we have established your current, core competencies we will set a time framed training program for the rest.
Proficient in mechanical engineering and using manual lathe and vertical mill, producing and working to drawings, setting work schedules and delivering on them. Nearly all of our projects involve working in a close team environment and we consider our customers as part of the extended family. You must have a strong desire to learn new skills and we will provide the rest.
